Parking in Uptown, Chicago
Unlike areas like West Town or Humboldt Park, Uptown is a mixture of both residential and commercial buildings in Chicago. Uptown has both diverse neighborhoods and some of Chicago's most historic entertainment venues, which means two things: There is always something to do, and finding convenient parking is always difficult.
Uptown's neighborhoods are comprised of areas like Buena Park, Sheridan Park, Little Vietnam, Margate Park, and Andersonville Terrace. These areas are diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and employment, which makes it an interesting place to visit at any time of year.
Uptown is also known for its Entertainment District, which is a year round tourist attraction. Some of the venues in the Uptown Entertainment District are the Aragon Ballroom, the Riviera Theater, and the Green Mill Jazz Club. These places have hosted some of the biggest names in many genres of music, including U2, The Rolling Stone,s Snoop Dogg, Duke Ellington, the Grateful Dead, and B.B. King.
Uptown is very close to beautiful Lake Michigan, which makes it a popular destination for Illinois residents during the spring and summer. It is also very close to the Waveland Avenue Golf Course, one of the nicest courses in Chicago.
